To compliment Claire’s one-shoulder Givenchy dress and allow her neckline to show, stylist Peter Butler pulled her hair back into a chic, low ponytail with a soft side part. He said to her, “If we try and make this Hollywood, it just won’t work,” so he kept the look fresh and cool but still elegant with soft pieces falling around the face. “The dress is very sharp looking and I wanted to soften it by giving her a cool ‘New York girl’ style."

TRY IT:
STEP 1: Starting with wet hair, volumizer was applied evenly throughout the hair to provide hold, texture and volume and a shine mist was sprayed on the ends.
STEP 2: Hair was blown out with a medium round brush.
STEP 3: Hair was brushed into a side part and Biolage Exquisite Oil Replenishment Treatment was smoothed over the hair to tame flyaways.
STEP 4: Matrix Design Pulse Mega Dust was applied to roots at the crown of her head and lightly teased to provide height to the ponytail.

STEP 5: Hair was gathered at the nape of the neck and secured with a bungee elastic, joining the two hooks underneath the ponytail.
STEP 6: Small pieces were pulled out around the ears to keep the look ethereal and not too done.
STEP 7: Hairspray was lightly misted to keep the look all together.
STEP 8: Finished off the look with a few sprays of Matrix's Total Results Blonde Care Flash Filler Sheer Mist as a shine spray to bring out and enhance her blonde hue.
