With precision and patience, Aloxxi National Team Member Robertina Martinez creates a bright halo of hair that surrounds the face, creating her client’s own personal ring light.

“This is an awesome technique for clients who balayage their hair but still want some brightness around their face,” says Martinez @hairbyrobertina. “And it's great for the stylist because the clients who balayage only come in once every 4 to 6 months, but with this they'll get to see those clients in between balayage appointments to touch this up!”

PROCESS:

Take a 2-inch thick section along the entire perimeter and do babylights throughout that whole area.

“And by babylights, I mean paper thin sections and a teeny tiny weave!” she explains. “The goal is to achieve the natural highlighted look for when the hair is pulled up.”

PRODUCT USED: Aloxxi's Blue Lightener with Blue 20 Volume Developer

PRO TIP: “My biggest tip is to take the time to really make sure you're doing actual baby highlights to keep it natural looking. And use the hairline as your guide. Meaning not horizontal sections but working from the hairline back."
