THE VISION: “Scruples Whisper Collection is soft and sexy, as is the mirrored ombre technique,” Evans says. “The color transitions softly from dark chocolate, to carmel, to honey, then back to carmel, ending in dark chocolate.”

Step 1: Section hair into four quadrants. Beginning at the nape, apply base color from scalp to 3-4 inches down the hair depending on the length.

Step 2: Beginning at the nape again, take a 1-inch section. Lightly backcomb the section with a wide-toothed comb. This will help create the subtle transition from the base color to Dimension Color 1.

Step 3: Apply Dimension Color 1 2-3 inches down the hair, beginning just below where the base color ends, fusing it into the base color.

Step 4: Apply Dimension Color 2 1-2 inches down into the hair, fusing it into the Dimension Color 1.

Step 5: Apply dimension color 1 2-3 inches down, fusing it into Dimension Color 2.

Step 6: Finish by applying the Base Color beginning just below Dimension Color 1 and continuing to the ends, fusing it into Dimension Color 1.

Step 7: Continue this technique throughout the head. Scruples Color Papers work best with this technique.
