There are more than 35.5 million Spanish speaking people in the U.S., and more than 45 million who speak Spanish as a first or second language. Recently Matrix has recognized the demand for bi-lingual education in the hair styling profession and to meet that demand, Matrix has assembled Latino Expressionists, an elite squad of Spanish-speaking hairstyling pros. Led by Matrix Artistic Designer Robert Santana, this group of 14 stylists will bring Matrix education to Spanish speaking hair stylists throughout the U.S.

“We have observed the rapidly growing Hispanic market for some time now,” comments AVP of Education Cheryl Nishi.  “We felt it was important to create a group of educators to communicate with these stylists, and to present our message in a consistent manner.  With Latin Expressions, we now have an incredible team that is technically strong and philosophically aligned.”

The initial Latino Expressionists team will consist of the following educators:

•    Carlos Ramirez, Santa Ana, CA
•    Jose Rodriguez, Orange County, CA
•    Alejandro Araya, Atlanta, GA
•    Azriel Arce, Providence, RI
•    Juan Blanco, Mamaroneck, NY
•    Junno Rivera, Brooklyn, NY
•    Elvira Garcia, Chicago, IL
•    Patricia Rodriguez, Milwaukee, WI
•    Fabian Cisneros, Naples, FL
•    Rodsly Ortiz, Houston, TX
•    Lorraine Marie Cortes, Ft. Lauderdale, FL
•    Lorena Dominguez, Carney, NJ
•    Angel Delgado, San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico
•    Ray Rojo, Ft. Morgan, CO

In the months to come, Santana will recruit and lead the training for additional team members.

“I’m so excited to work with this team,” says Santana. “Each is technically strong and passionate about the opportunity to contribute something important to their culture.  I believe they will provide Matrix with a powerful voice within the Latin hairdressing community.”

Latin Expressions is currently available for classes and seminars in New York, Florida, Texas, California and Chicago, IL. The first team show presentation is slated for America’s Beauty Show 2012 in Chicago and the team will go on to appear at major shows and events throughout the year.
