Coveting that chic headband style, but don’t know hot to get the look just right? Stylist Ryan Nickulas of the Ryan Darius Salon can help you jump on this season’s hottest look thanks to style making show, Gossip Girl: the headband. With these easy-to-follow DOs and DON’Ts, you can create any style from the preppy uptown look of Blair Waldorf to the downtown hipster of Jenny Humphrey.

You might as well stamp “bad hair day” on your forehead if you try these DON’Ts:
•    Don’t slick your hair back—it creates a severe look that won’t compliment any face shape
•    Don’t push your headband forward to create an 80’s style poof
•    Don’t wear a headband right at your hairline, always leave a minimum of 1 inch

Keep your style simple and chic by following these DOs:
•    Do make your headband center of attention by putting it in the center of your head
•    Do let your bangs hang forward to frame your face and let your headband shine as your accessory
•    For a more sophisticated look, Do tease the crown of your head to create height and keep your headband in the center of your head
•    Do keep it simple. Too much frizz and volume takes away from your headband
