Keep ’Em Separated: NovaLash Eyelash Extension How-To

Eyelash extensions can completely shift your clients’ overall look—and your bottom line. Trained extensionists can add length or volume, drama, color and sparkle, all while building a loyal clientele and added retail and service opportunities. But how to make lashes look the most natural and give your client the longest wear? NovaLash eyelash extensionists say it’s all about the separation.

“Not only does separation ensure that every natural lash is free to grow and stay healthy, it ensures that every eyelash gets bonded,” says Sophy Merszei, CEO of NovaLash. “The very process of separating serves to fluff up the extensions and make them look prettier.”

Any two extensions that become stuck together are separated by gently grasping each extension with tweezers and applying horizontal pressure to detach them.

Separation is done in rounds at least four times during a NovaLash application. Separating ensures every natural lash is free to grow, and the process enhances lashes’ appearance.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on separation from The Essential Guide to Lash Extension Technology by Merszei and NovaLash master trainer and brand ambassador Sophia Navarro.
