Stefanie Wheeler (@hairbystefaniee) of the Regis Salons, Bourbonnais, IL, caught MODERN's eye with this icy/blonde transformation.
"My client Brandi always loves her hair to be as light and cool-toned as possible," Wheeler says. "We usually keep her at a neutral level 10, but this time I wanted to kick it up a notch and give her something I knew she'd love even more. I decided to go all out and completely revamp her formula."
Here she shares the how-to:
STEP 1: Lighten the level 6 re-growth to a level 11 using Matrix V Lights with 30 volume developer. (color was processed for 20 minutes with a processing cap.)
STEP 2: While lightener still on the root, balayage a few pieces using Matrix V Lights with 20 volume. Process for an additional 10 minutes, lifting the balayage pieces to a level 11.
STEP 3: Rinse and then tone with Matrix ColorSync 1 1/2 oz. SPV + 1/2 oz. SPN + 1/4 oz. 10P and equal parts 10 volume developer.
STEP 4: Process for 15 minutes then shampoo and condition.
