I'm here in London, the most fabulous city ever, on a study abroad trip with Pivot Point International! I'll be here for the next eight days doing some VERY cool things. Joining the three Chicago-based Pivot Point schools are member schools Kohler Academy (based in Scottsdale, Arizona) and Federico Beauty Institute (from California). Not only will we be based in the heart of London for more than a week, but we're also going to be studying at the Sassoon Academy, getting education from Yolly ten Koppel and educators from Benelux.
Yolly has been a featured artist in numerous industry shows including world-class fashion capitals Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sao Paolo, Milan and NYC. She has been a recipient of the Hairdresser-of-the-Year award and a three-time winner of the U.S. Educator of the Year award--WOW! It's going to be so fantastic.
So far, we've landed in London and got an overview tour of the most recognizable places in London--the River Thames, the London Eye, Westminster Palace, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square.
The best part about this day so far (and the day is still young) was our trip to Camden Lock--one of London's most trendy areas with open-air markets, fun little shops and boutiques, delicious restaurants and yummy food vendors. This place was NUTS! It's where Kelly Osbourne and Amy Winehouse live--any further explanation needed?! Check out some pics I snapped of the AWESOME, punky, crazy hair!

While we've only been here a few short hours, I can already tell this will be a trip of a lifetime! Our hotel is gorgeous...but my flatiron completely blew up the electric socket! We had to call in maintenance to help fix it, hahaha. On top of that, I'm having some computer difficultties and am using an internet cafe to post this blog. You'll have to turn your head sideways to see this latest pic of me in Camden!
