"Although I see tons of box color nightmares, this transformation is by far the most amazing correction I ever had the honor of working on! This client had been using over the counter box color for years. On her very last time, her hair turned all sorts of tones as you can see in the before. My oldest daughter was at a get together when this mutual friend asked 'your mom does hair right?' My daughter replied yes and was asked for contact information for help. I got the call and I could just hear it in her poor voice how upset she was. I had her come in for a consultation and we determined that although her hair looked really damaged, it could still be saved! We then proceeded with her plan and her hair journey back to healthier hair. After approximately 6 hours, we couldn't be happier with these results!"
Formula/Process
Step 1: Clarify the hair with Kenra Clarifying Shampoo to remove any product/build up. Finish with an Olaplex stand alone treatment using the 1/2 0z Olaplex #1 diluted with 3 oz water. Saturate the hair for 10 minutes and without rinsing, apply a generous amount of Olaplex #2 for another 10 minutes. ("Before rinsing the Olaplex I decided to cut and shape her hair into long layers.") Rinse and dry the hair.
Step 2: Apply Kenra no ammonia Lightener with 30 volume and 1/8 Olaplex #1 from1inch from the scalp to the ends. Watch closely ("believe it or not her hair was holding up great") and after 45 minutes, emulsify the lightener in the hair. Rinse completely and follow with a light shampoo with Kenra moisturizing shampoo. Rinse and dry completely.
Step 3: Return to the root with Kenra no ammonia Lightener with 20 volume and 1/8 Olaplex. After 35 minutes the roots were lifted to a good level 6/7 yellow/orange. Rinse and apply Olaplex #2 for 20 minutes. Shampoo and condition with the Kenra Moisturizing line. Dry hair completely.
Step 4: Apply Kenra permanent color 1 oz 6A/ .5 oz 5N and .5 oz of 3vr with 20 Volume from root to end. Process for 35 minutes. Rinse.
Step 5: Glaze with Kenra Demi Clear with 9 volume activator for 25 minutes (no heat).
Step 6: Shampoo and condition with Kenra Color Maintenance line. Blow-dry hair completely straight with Blow-dry Mist spray. Refine haircut and style.
