“This guest had a 4 plus month grow out level 3 darkest brown and the ends were a fade vivid at a level 10 with a mint stain,” says Franco Hernandez (@hairbyfranco) of Colour Luxe Salon, Huntington Beach, California. “She requested a ‘creation’ of a deep to vibrant red.”
WHAT FUN!!!
Here Hernandez shares the details for the dramatic makeover/color correction:
STEP 1: Lift natural regrowth using Goldwell Silk lift (no ammonia) and 20 vol (6%). Process for 15 minutes. (The result was a gold blonde, a perfect base palette). Shampoo and dry the hair.
STEP 2: Apply a base formula along the pre-lifted area from scalp to the line of demarcation using Goldwell 6RR/Max and 20 volume (6%) also adding 10 ml of Pure Pigments Red (for added red intensity).
STEP 3: To the rest of the strand (which was the most lightened from previous lifting) apply Goldwell Elumen Play Red (“for a direct dye vibrancy.”) Process for 30 minutes.
