Jaymz Marsters (@jaymz.Marsters), based In Norfolk, England, says that he's gained a reputation of "taking my clients dull lifeless hair and making it into something you would see in a candy shop or children's t.v show! The brighter the better is a phrase that always goes through my head when ever I am creating something vivid."
Marsters first impressions of this hair (in the before shot) was shock and panic. "How was I going to make something this patchy look remotely nice? With three inches of level 7 regrowth, three inches of black, two inches of green/brown and the rest a funky merky blonde, I knew this wasn't going to be a walk in the park." Knowing he and the client wanted yellow hair required a dramatic cut.
Formulas:
Formula A: 15g Schwarzkopf IGORA Vario Blonde + 30g 30vol developer + 3.75ml Olaplex No.1
Formula B: 25g IGORA Vario Blonde + 50g 10vol developer + 3.75ml Olaplex No.1
Formula C: Redken Shades EQ 5g 09v + 5g 09b + 10g clear + 20g processing solution.
Formula D:Manic Panic Sunshine + Inferno + Olaplex No.1
Formula E: Manic Panic Electric Banana + Olaplex No.1
Application:
Step 1: After cutting length from the hair into a rough shape, apply formula A into the artificial black areas. Process to a warm level 6 by visually checking every 10 minuets. Apply Olaplex No. 2 onto the ends preparing the hair for step 2. Rinse, shampoo, apply Moringaplex pre-treatment spray and blow dry.
Step 2: Apply Formula B onto the newly lifted level 6 area and allow to process for 15 minutes. Apply a new mixture of formula B to the root / regrowth area and the ends (meaning the whole head in covered in formula 2.) Process for an additional 20 minuets.
Step 3: Once a level 9 / 10 has been achieved, apply formula C and visually process until a clean result is visible. Tone for approximately 6 minuets. Rinse, shampoo, apply Moringaplex pre-treatment spray and blow dry.
Step 4: Apply formula D onto the root area stretching down approximately 2 inches. Take an outer perimeter around the head of around 1.5 inchs deep and apply formula D through to the ends to give the underneath of the cut a shadow, giving the illusion of body and width and creating a fuller-looking result.
Step 5: Apply Formula E into the the lengths and ends throughout the rest of hair. Make sure to rub the color forcing the pigment into the hair for longer lasting results. Rinse in cold water, condition, apply Moringaplex pre-treatment spray and blow dry. Once dry perfect the cut and style as desired. Apply glitter to the hidden undercut for an added effect.
