One of MODERN's favorite artists, Cassandra McGlaughlin (@cassandraplatinum), owner of Salon Platinum, Tampa, Florida; along with her colleague Dominique Limone (limonetree), are inspiring hairdressers and colorists with a program called "Mannequin Monday". When McGlaughlin, Limone and MODERN asked other salon professionals to show their favorite finishes on a mannequin head (tagging #mannequinmonday), YOU all delivered. There were thousands of fantastic finishes to choose from. It was impossible to choose just one to feature (the original plan). Here are 4 fantastic finishes that represent a nice variety including color, cut, style and art. (Make sure to go in and look at all the others...amazing and inspiring, and make sure to check back here next Monday for another Mannequin Monday post!)
Congrats to Tyson Noriega (thetysonthatdoes hair), Becky Lemon (littlebecky28), Ashley Engram (@ashley_canvas) and Janine Ker (janine_ker_hair) for helping us to kick off "mannequinmonday", and special thanks McGlaughlin and Limone for sharing this great idea with MODERN:

Step 2: Apply to the mids: 8GB with 9% to zone 2, to about 1 1/2 inches from zone 3 (the ends).
Step 3: Paint a "V" motion in 1 inch diagonal back sections using Sunlights (with 9%) for a subtle yet impactful contrast. Softly create lines of lightener on top sides of section and then saturating more at the tip of the "V".

"I love creating hair ups but I always need inspiration so I look though Instagram and YouTube and keep a folder on my iPad full off hair up ideas so when I'm stuck I can go through them and get inspired," says Lemmon, a Junior Stylist based at Elaje Hair and Beauty in Cambridge, UK . "I look at books, magazines and make mood/inspiration boards for additional ideas." In addition, Lemmon preps the hair with heated rollers to give the style shape, body and volume. "Whenever I work with someone with fine hair I like to spray the hair with dry shampoo to add texture and grip to their hair. It also helps hold curls, braids and gives lots of volume without weighing the hair down. Also, when I'm in the salon plaiting is very popular and learning new and different plaits/braiding, and adding them in to hair, can give a whole different look...even when your just doing a simple bun."
