THE EVENT: Premiere Orlando, June 4-6, 2016, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
THE DETAILS: Stylists, owners, educators, media and distributors from across the country (and beyond) flocked to the enormous show, which totaled 57,551 attendees when all was said and done.
Saturday of the show was dedicated solely to education—the show floor was not open for general attendees. Saturday and Sunday, the show floor was open and bustling from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., respectively.
THE TRENDS: Premiere 2016 was certainly a year for launches. Few booths did not have a new launch just in time for the show.
Mizani celebrated its 25th anniversary with five new styling products and new packaging; Wahl introduced its 5 Star Barber Combo and Finale; and Colorsmash is totally new to the scene with temporary haircolor spray that doesn't transfer or leave hair sticky—just to name a few.
In a trend that we’ve seen at the past few shows (ABS, ISSE), booths with barbering presentations continue to draw big crowds. Those with barbering presentations and a half-pipe for skateboarders? Even more seats filled. (Looking at you, Peter Coppola Beauty!)
MODERN was proud to have Publisher Steve Reiss present research from our recent PROCESS color study with attendees of the show.
SAVE THE DATE: Premiere Orlando 2017 will be June 3-5, 2017.
In case you missed it, here's a look at some of the hair, makeup and fun at Premiere Orlando 2016. MODERN was there both in the classrooms and on the showfloor checking out all the runways and booths.
