The Event: TIGI'sCopyright Colour Tour on Monday, April 25, 2016, at City Winery in Chicago.
The Details: TIGI Founder and International Artistic Director Anthony Mascolo joined the brand's creative team (Akos Bodi, Thomas Osborn, Richy Kandasamy, Joel Torres, Christel Lundqvist and Gina Khan) to showcase cut, color and style techniques. The team introduced Copyright Colour Custom Collection Blondes and the TIGI 24/7 mobile app at the upscale venue, and Khan was introduced as the newest addition to the Copyright Colour team.
Elisa Fischer, general manager of TIGI, Americas, kicked off the show by sharing her personal journey with TIGI and in the industry and by reiterating what TIGI calls its DNA: innovation, fashion, youth, creative, passionate, education, challenger, image-makers and by hairdressers for hairdressers.
The tour was launched in 2015 as the brainchild of Mascolo and Lundqvist to serve as an educational tool for stylists to learn more about cutting and styling with a focus on Copyright Colour. The 2016 tour comprised six stops, including Miami and Orlando in Florida; Costa Mesa, California; Scottsdale, Arizona; Chicago; and Calgary, AB.
Mascolo took the stage to impress upon audience members the importance of smaller-scale, more intimate shows.
"We can do a big show—and those are important, too—but really, you don't see anyone, you don't communicate," Mascolo said. "Really this is about getting to know you all." Mascolo made a point of saying hello to everyone he could before presentations started.
After the cut and color segments, everyone took a break for lunch before a final runway presentation of all the models on stage that day. The TIGI team also teased a big color launch to arrive around September 2016, so stay tuned!
Save the Date: The Copyright Colour's final stop will be in Calgary, AB, on Sunday, May 15, at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino.
