I had my very first appointment with a stranger and I NAILED it!!
When I saw my client (I peeping Tom-ed my way to the reception desk) my stomach dropped. Her hair was really long and a pretty brown color. Long-haired clients can sometimes be worse, especially if they just want a trim. They notice every little bit of hair you took off. Wow, I was absolutely terrified.
But, I went up to her, introduced myself and brought her back for the consultation--and it went AWESOME! She just wanted about half-an-inch off the ends, a little bit of layering, and some face-framing fringe.
When I was all done, she said, and I quote, "This is the best hair cut I've ever had!" WHAAAAAAAAAAT!? Instead of shaking my hand, she went in for a hug! She tipped me! AND, I talked her into highlights and a deep conditioning treatment for next week!! WOW!! Best first client ever!!
OK, so I know I may not have given her literally the best hair cut ever, but our conversation was so great that I think she just felt like it was the best hair cut ever. And I am totally OK with her thinking that : )
I am so, so, so happy that I've officially had my first client and I can officially say I am a hairdresser!!!
WOO HOO!!!
