Owner of an eponymous Manhattan salon, Ricardo Rojas, recently colored songstress Natasha Bedingfield. Seeing a '70s-inspired Blondie shade for her, he transformed her natural Level-10 (she came in with Level-12 highlights and two to three inches of regrowth) with two formulas:

Baliage Highlights: Clairol Professional BW2 bleach with 30-volume developer. Apply to small, scattered pieces; as you reach the front, create 1½-inch ones and concentrate them. Process about five minutes.

Toner: Wella Color Charm T18 (White Lady) with equal parts 20-volume developer. Process for five to 10 minutes and rinse. This creates a beige blonde.
