The assortment of men’s hairstyles and cuts have come a long way since the “Caesar Cut.”  Today, men are sporting a variety of looks and lengths from the retro crew cut to the androgynous hair trend of 2014 aka the “Man Bun.” But the latest men’s hairstyle that has people buzzing is the “Power Cut” (aka the clean shaven look). Celebrities like Jason Statham, PitBull and David Beckham have made this cut an acceptable hairstyle from athletes to office executives.

Unfortunately, men suffering from hair loss may feel limited with their styling options. Hair loss comes in many varieties, ranging from a slightly receding hairline to complete baldness. The causes are multiple, and most often genetic. According to the American Hair Loss Association, Androgenetic Alopecia or common male pattern baldness (MPB) accounts for more than 95% of hair loss in men. By the age of thirty-five two-thirds of American men will experience some degree of appreciable hair loss, and by the age of 50 approximately 85% of men have significantly thinning hair.

Just so you are aware of this growing new trend, there's a procedure out called Scalp Micro-Pigmentation that's a specialized hair loss treatment that simulates the natural look of cropped hair and camouflages and strengthens thinning hair and pattern baldness, even alopecia and hair transplant scars.

During the process, the look of hair is literally tattooed on the head. During the procedure, a blend of specialist pigments are deposited into the dermal layer of the skin on the scalp. Using a combination of angles, penetration depths, deposit sizes and pigment shades, these deposits create a realistic illusion of real shaven hair on the scalp. The scalp application is administered to the head, usually over 2-3 sessions spaced about a week apart.

“Contrary to societal belief, most men who suffer from male pattern baldness are extremely unhappy with their situation and would do anything to change it,” says Matthew Iulo, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, at theHIS Hair Clinic, hair loss treatment clinic. “Hair loss affects every aspect of the hair loss sufferer's life. It affects interpersonal relationships as well as the professional lives of those suffering. It is not uncommon for men to change their career paths because of their hair loss.”
