Kelly Pham-Do (@excellenthairsalon), a senior hairstylist at Excellent Hair Salon & Spa Inc, Fremont, California, was thrilled with this opportunity from a new client. "Louri saw my work on Instagram and came to me for a first time," says Pham-DO. "She had never colored her hair. Her virgin hair is a level 3 and she wanted to go to a warm blonde."
Pham-Do made it happen. Here she shares the HOW TO:
Starting level: 3 natural darkest brown
Target level: 7 warm blonde
Step 1: Divide hair into 3 sections: back and from ear to ear. Using Matrix Light Master lightener 40 volume, apply babylights in foils, within 1/2 inch subsections. Start in the nape, working towards the crown. Continue in the same manner throughout the hair.
Step 2: Balayage the remaining hair with Matrix Light Master lightener + 50 volume.
Step 3: Process at room temperature for 40 minutes. Rinse and towel dry hair well.
Step 4: Mix Matrix Socolor 7n 2.5 oz with equal parts of 10 volume creme developer. Apply to the base on damp hair.
Step 5: Mix Matrix ColorSync 8v 2oz+ 10p 2oz. Apply to zone 2 leaving zone 3 out.
Step 6: Process for 20 minutes, then pull color through zone 3. Process for an additional 5 minutes. Rinse, shampoo, condition and style.
