“The key thing to remember when doing this type of style is that you can’t reinvent Marilyn,” explains Oribe. “You have to recreate an exaggerated, almost cartoon-like version of her. Her look is classic. It’s not about reinvention, or else it becomes something else entirely.”

Oribe used his own Royal Blowout heat styling spray as a first step. “It provides amazing softness, which bleached blonde hair can lack,” he says.

To get the look:

1.     Mist with Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray and blow hair out.

2.     Separate hair into one-inch sections. Spray each section from root to end with Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray and set with a curling iron. Do the entire head for a classic set.

3.     Apply Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots for lift and comb hair into place.

4.     Apply Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray as you’re working, separating hair with your hands.  If hair is thick, use Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray for added separation.
