Somewhere on the spectrum between pastel pink and orange sits Pantone’s 2024 Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz, described as “a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.” The color is as soft and warm as it is vibrant, and you can almost feel it against your skin like a plush blanket.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, describes the dreamy shade as “a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”
This color is already popular in many facets of the beauty industry, and it’s sure to gain even more traction this year as we continue through the spring and summer months. Some of our favorite PRAVANA artists have been using the brand's VIVIDS line enthusiastically to create their own versions of the shade.
According to colorist and PRAVANA Global Artistic Mentor George Blanco (@GeorgeeBlancoo), “Peach is trending because it’s coming fresh off the Cowboy Copper trend, and it’s time for something a little lighter and softer within the same family.”
“Peach is so customizable for everyone – you can lean more towards pink peach, orange peach, pastel peach, or muted peach. With all of those options, peach is a great fit for anyone and any skin tone,” adds Paige Brueck (@PinkDagger), colorist and PRAVANA artist.
For the easiest way to achieve a peach shade, George Blanco recommends lifting to the appropriate level first of a 9 or 10. Then, mix PRAVANA VIVIDS in Sunstone and Clear-Pastel for the perfect peach over a level 9, or PRAVANA VIVIDS Pastels in Too Cute Coral over level 10, enhancing the shade if necessary by adding more pigment.
