Beginning in early 2008, Oribe partnered with some of the former owners and team from Bumble & bumble to try and create what they termed “the Rolls Royce” of hair care. To build the line, they went all over the world to collect premium ingredients and the best people for each type of product.

Impermeable-on-White---Smal
Most people in the industry know Oribe as a superstar stylist and one of the top hairdressers of the last 30 years. He started as part of the team who made supermodels of Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington. When Jennifer Lopez was just Jenny from the Block, Oribe was doing her hair. And while he is still busy with editorial and advertising shoots from around the world, his new venture is bringing his style and his passion for detail into top salons around the country.
Beginning in early 2008, Oribe partnered with some of the former owners and team from Bumble & bumble to try and create what they termed "the Rolls Royce" of hair care. To build the line, they went all over the world to collect premium ingredients and the best people for each type of product. "The best genius in creating shampoo is not necessarily the best person for creating a hair spray," says Chief Marketing Officer Daniel Langer of their partners. "For the ingredients, It's like cooking with $100 olive oil versus $2 olive oil."
The resulting Oribe line was launched in January of this year. With 21 SKUs, all the products are paraben-free and every one has a treatment bent, with the idea of helping the quality of the hair over time. "At the same time," Says Langer, "we still wanted to make something that creates shine, texture, volume and just beautiful hair."
There are several stand-outs among the line, but one is particularly intriguing. Impermeable, which means raincoat in French, is a fine finishing spray that locks out humidity and eliminates frizz, protecting both sleek blow-outs and perfect curls. The formula is vitamin-enriched, protects against free-radical damage and offer UV protection. Miracle in a can? Just might be!
