The front row filled with NineZeroOne crew-members as AlunaGeorge’s “I’m in Control” started bumping during the last session of day one at the 2016Unite Global Session. Under just a spotlight, Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee starting doing what launched their careers—tag-teaming a client (or in this case a model) to get the job done quickly, efficiently and beautifully. Videos of some of the biggest celebrities—think Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Emma Roberts and Julianne Hough—flashed on screen at various red carpets, photoshoots, music videos and other appearances, all of course styled by Capri and Lee.

Capri and Lee are stylists, colorists and co-owners of NineZeroOne Salon and 901too in West Hollywood, California, tour on their Beauty Coach bus and educate and connect with stylists and beauty enthusiasts on their blog of the same name, and are the founders of the newly launched beauty education subscription service Beauty Coach TV (BCTV).

As the duo worked and the stage lit up, animated, adorably dressed models strut their stuff, donning a variety of hair styles and personas while laughing, taking selfies and getting into character. When they made their way across the stage, there was a step-and-repeat set up and a photographer ready to snap pictures, which were immediately published to @ninezeroone’s Instagram page, of course using the appropriate hashtags (this was leading into a presentation on the art of perfecting social media, after all).

A photographer stood on stage in front of the step-and-repeat, shooting photos of models and posting them direcly to @ninezeroone's Instagram page.

Once styled, the model in the chair popped up from the chair and danced to the front of the stage and did as the other models had done. Another model would take her place in the chair and the parade would continue on. If there was a recipe for an upbeat, fun hair styling presentation, this was it.

Earlier in the day, Capri expressed her nerves on Instagram, this being their first presentation in front of such a large audience, but nobody would have ever guessed any sense of anxiety given how the session went. The whole crowd was totally immersed, cheering and bopping to the beat of the music as Capri and Lee grooved around their models as they worked.
