SAVE THE DATE! A Night Of Wigs and Wishes, the fundraiser held by Martino Cartier to benefit FriendsAreByYourSide.com, the foundation designed to grant wigs and wishes to women and children battling cancer, will be held October 5, 2014. The event will take place at Lucien's Manor in Berlin, New Jersey.
Celebrity guests this year will include singer, songwriter and choreographer Paula Julie Abdul; Mary Sciarrone (The Cake Boss) and Gayle Giacomo and the cast of Jerseylicious from the Gatsby Salon. Entertainment includes "Don't Call Me Francis" band and DJ Mike Galioto. Last year there were oodles of surprises, gifting, an incredible silent auction items and great food and drink.
Cartier’s vision was joining forces with salons across the world and take the pledge to restore dignity to women who lost their hair to chemotherapy at no charge. His goal was to find a safe haven for women to go to regardless of their financial situation. Presently, hundreds of salons have made that dream a reality. Cartier’s desire took on a new light when he met Kiki. Kiki was a beautiful girl who had been battling cancer since she was only eight years old. She had been turned down for a wig by a number of foundations. In April of 2012, Kiki and Cartier were introduced. He made a wig for her and the friendship began.
Cartier created the 1st Annual Night of Wigs and Wishes with a goal to raise funds and additional awareness for Friends Are By Your Side. From the events proceeds, several wishes for women and children battling cancer and suffering hair loss will be granted. From toy drives, celebrity meet and greets, Disney Trips to Queen O’ The Dog; Friends Are By Your Side and its growing network are dedicated to making dreams come true. Last year, more than 1200 people attended and more than $100,000 was raised.
"This event not only changes the lives of women and children fighting cancer but it elevates our industry taking us from ordinary to extraordinary.
Tickets for A Night Of Wigs and Wishes are priced at $150. They sold out quickly last year. Tickets for the after hour party are $65.
