Advice to other solo artists: “Concentrate on client retention. Instead of always trying to get the next client, be present to the client that is in your chair and build your clientele through them. I used to send handwritten thank you cards to clients and include three business cards with a note saying that the best compliment they could give me would be to pass on those cards to friends.”
