It’s the mentorship of a lifetime, and those that get chosen as Spread the Love ambassadors not only get a jumpstart into the beauty industry, but they begin their careers with real hands-on experience. The winners get to travel for six months around the nation touring schools, visiting salons and going to major trade shows, all in exchange for blogging about their experiences on mymatrixfamily.com.
Q: As a former Spread the Love ambassador, what were some of your most valuable takeaways from the six-month experience?
A: “We learned what this amazing indsutry is all about, and the potential that every cosmetology graduate has if they put their mind to it,” says Suzy Henningsgard, 2012 Matrix Spread the Love winner. “I came into Spread the Love thinking it was about me—what I could get out of traveling and meeting the greatest leaders of our industry. I came out of it knowing it was all worth nothing if I don’t share that knowledge with my fellow stylists throughout my career. The education that came from our time with our mentors (the Matrix Artistic Educators) will be carried with us for the rest of our lives, but more so knowing you can never achieve the greatness they have without a true, undying passion and dedication to your craft.”
