Ted Gibson shares news...new price of a cut and saying goodbye to signature pink.
Ted Gibson to Raise Price of Haircut to $1200
SOOOOO, just got this press release:
"Celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson will raise the price of his haircut from $950 to $1200, effective January 1, 2013. With a current wait time of one month to eight weeks, Gibson deems the price increase necessary given his increasing popularity and demand for his services. Gibson touts his haircuts as being “a luxurious, 5-star experience” wherein each guest receives a stress relieving treatment with hot towels, shampoo, conditioning treatment, haircut, blow-dry and style all from Gibson himself."
WOW...this is so exciting! How great for the entire salon industry...that all your talent and creativity is valued.
Ted believes his cuts are certainly worth the price: “I’m making Hollywood accessible to the Upper East Side woman'" says Ted. "The woman from NJ...the woman whose husband wants to give her a gift for the holidays. Hair – more than the anything else- dictates how a woman feels about who she really is. I strive to make sure that every client who sits in my chair feels pampered and loved. I’m providing her with more than a haircut – it’s an experience.”
I hung out with Ted on Sunday (he is granting Modern an exclusive photo shoot and I stopped by to check it out). He kept talking about the $1200 cut and at the time I didn't understand he was upping his price (I WAS listening...just did not realize it was imminent).
What I did realize was that Ted and team were all in....BLACK! "Ted...where's the pink? What's the scoop?"
The scoop he tells me is that as of January 1, 2013, the Ted Gibson salon is going BLACK. "It's so much more professional," he told me. "It's polished and powerful and EVERYONE looks good. I feel it's more of a 'hairdresser' color and it's something we can all relate to."
You GO Ted! $1200...cool! Here is a little video about the new signature and brand "shade". Meanwhile, I left in the Ted bio that came with the press release. It's beautifully written and should be used by other professionals as a guide.
