STMNT Grooming Goods is expanding into the shave care category with three new additions to its lineup.
The beachy wave style isn't new but to make it look current and relevant, there are a few things that set it apart from last season's look.

What puts a modern twist on this summer’s beachy wave is making sure to leave out the ends. “When the ends are straight that gives it a more modern feel.”—Laura Polko
Summer time hair should be as fuss-free as a day at the beach. Laura Polko @laurapolko, who recently styled Gigi Hadid for the Met Gala, taught us how to create a Modern Beach Wave, one that she describes as unstructured and easy. Polko worked with the new Texture Sexy Hair Collection, five new products providing various levels of hold and touchable texture, all with buildability and humidity protection so that styling options are limitless. “These product are made to be used from start to finish to create a style that will last,” Polko explains. “But I can still run my fingers through the hair, no matter how much product I put in it.”
Step One: Shampoo hair with Clean Wave Texturizing Styling Shampoo. “Conditioner isn’t necessary for this look,” Polk explains. “Then the hair isn’t too soft and won’t fall straight to your face.”
Step Two: When hair is nearly dry, place clips on either side of the face to create a soft bend around the face.
Step Three: Section from front to the ear and clip that section away. Create volume at the crown by spraying in Beach’n Spray Texturizing Beach Spray, working it in and lifting with fingers as you do. “It is a salt spray but it’s not too heavy. Some salt sprays can be too rough on the hair but this one works with your natural texture and even adds shine.”
Step Four: Use a blow dryer and brush to get extra lift, directing the hair back, not forward. “The crown is the giveaway of a good hairstyle.”
Step Five: On the hair that is down (from ear to ear), spray in Surfer Girl Dry Texturizing Spray to prep. Using one inch iron, curl away from the face and leave the ends out. Repeat around the head. “I’m not into curling the ends. When the ends are straight that gives it a more modern feel.”
Step Six: Finish with a flat iron, if desired, for extra bend. “Hold the hair super taut so that you can direct it.” Set with High Tide Texturizing Finishing Hairspray. “It’s a medium hold so you can spray away.”
Pro Tip: Polko likes to spray product on her hand and work over a section again with her fingers, paying special attention to the ends to keep them from flipping under.
The Texture Sexy Hair collection is recommended for most hair types.
