We love it when we stumble upon a great transformation by a student. Sarah Johnson, a future professional at Paul Mitchell The School in Rhode Island, says "Not one day goes by where I don't enjoy doing what I do. This is THE best industry in the world." She takes clients 3 days a week and adds "I've never had a single night without a client, or three, in my chair. I'm beyond determined to have my chair filled. I love making people feel and look beautiful, I care about my clients, I care about the integrity of their hair, and so far, I have a solid 70+ clients who have come back more than a couple times." Averaging 6-8 clients per week, Johnson has to go in on her days off from school, just to fit more clients in. "I've been beyond blessed with the amount of referrals I've gotten so far!"
We LOVED this transformation on one of those referrals. "My client came in with a level 5 natural color. Her friend used to color her hair with basic stuff from a beauty supply store, and just foiled it like crazy, back to back. She was a level 10, and had some really brassy sections. She hadn't had it done in about 6 months. Her hair is thicker than anyone I've ever seen."
Here Johnson shares the details on this correction:
STEP 1: Place weaved highlights (in foils) using Paul Mitchell DPL and 30 volume. Process for about 15 minutes after the last foil was placed.
STEP 2: Tone with PM Shines: 1 oz 9V, 1/4 oz 9A and 1/4 9N. "I watched this closely as I didn't want her hair to turn purple with how much of a violet base was in our toner."
STEP 3: Process for 10 minutes and then rinse. After thinning the interior and adding some layers and angles, style with Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde Dramatic Repair Spray, Sculpting Foam and Awapuhi Wild Ginger Mirrorsmooth primer.
