MODERN SALON sat down with Samuels to discuss the book, beauty education, mentorship and the habits that help beauty professionals thrive.
Launching June 11, 2025, Not Another Club offers coaching that supports both business growth and personal wellbeing for salon pros.

Sophia Hilton is an influential hairdresser working in the industry today — especially in education, color, and social media.
Not Another Club officially launched on June 11, 2025, with the goal of offering a new kind of support system for the hair industry—one that combines expert business coaching, emotional wellness support, and meaningful community connections.
Business and Life, Not Business or Life
Not Another Club is a coaching program for the hair industry that integrates both business and life coaching, addressing the full reality of being a salon professional today. Founded by British hairdresser and salon owner, Sophia Hilton, Not Another Club is described as being, "... not just about hitting sales targets—it’s about navigating burnout, money fears, identity loss, and the emotional rollercoaster that often comes with being a stylist or salon owner."
According to the launch release, Not Another Club will be meeting the industry where it's at today: "Today’s economy is unstable, the market is fragmented, and no single “business formula” works for everyone. Hilton believes the future belongs to the flexible—those who can adapt quickly and maintain emotional resilience."
A Multi-Faceted Approach
Not Another Club brings together multiple expert-led areas of support under one umbrella, including:
A 24/7 color hotline for real-time, in-salon technical support
A social media and marketing pathway to build client demand
Financial coaching led by an accountant with 3,000+ salon clients
A tech guru to help stylists master digital tools
A wellbeing coach for support with stress, burnout, and self-doubt
Plus: A thriving WhatsApp community, weekly webinars, and in-person meetups across the UK and beyond
Building Momentum Before Launch
Although the platform has yet to officially launch, interest has been strong. After just eight months of behind-the-scenes development and without any formal marketing, Not Another Club has already welcomed 220 members—75% salon owners and 25% independents.
This early momentum reflects a hunger for more than just business advice. As Hilton explains, “People don’t just want tools, they want a team.”
Accessibility Is a Core Value
In an industry where premium coaching can often be financially out of reach, Hilton and her team have made affordability a cornerstone of their mission:
£60/month for self-employed stylists
£100/month for salon owners
NOTE: As of today, 60 British pounds is approximately equivalent to $76.20 USD, based on an estimated exchange rate of 1 GBP = 1.27 USD.
“I’ve had so many people tell me I should charge double,” Hilton says. “But this isn’t about exclusivity. It’s about impact. I’m not interested in working with just the elite. I’m here to support everyone with a dream, reconnecting a disconnected industry.”
Combating Industry Loneliness
One of the biggest challenges salon pros face—whether they own a salon or work independently—is isolation. Not Another Club seeks to rebuild that connection not only online but in-person, organizing breakfasts before events, lunches after, and offering a community where no one has to travel to education alone.
"Not a Guru, a Guide"
“I’m not stepping in as a coach pretending to have all the answers,” Hilton adds. “I’m doing what I do best—spotting what’s missing in our industry and building on a scale that hasn’t been done before.”
