FIRST SESSION
Gabrielle Frosinos (@sirengabrielle) of Siren Salon Vancouver, Washington, recently went on a fun journey with a client and shares the HOW TO:
Session 1: Our first appointment together she had about 2 inches of level 6 regrowth and a faded professional level 5 on the rest of her hair. She wanted balayage for an all over brighter but natural feel. For this session I used Wella Blondor with Joico Veroxide 10/20 in foils. The hair was toned with G9/N9/A7.
Session 2: About two months later she came in wanting red/copper/blonde! I mixed up 5XR and 10 volume and applied that to her regrowth and color melted into Blondor lightener on her mids and ends. The hair was toned with Joico Chrome G9 and RC8, 3:1 ratio.
Session 3: This time when she came in she was so happy with the color but we wanted to tweak a few things and make her ends more copper than a warmer blonde.
Formula 1: Joico Vero 5XR and 10 veroxide. (1:1)
Forumla 2: Joico Chrome RC8, Joico Chrome G9 (2:1), and Chrome Activator. (2:1)
STEP 1: Begin with a traditional color retouch with Formula 1. Feather about 1/3 of the way down on some pieces. Once retouch applied, go through and randomly pick up pieces and pull formula 1 through from root to ends.
STEP 2: Once the amount of depth desired is achieved, melt Formula 2 on the remaining uncolored pieces of hair making sure to marry Formula 1 and 2 together for an even blended transition.
STEP 3: Process for 25 minutes at room temperature. Shampoo and condition with Davines Minu. Prep with Pureology Colour Fanatic, Davines This is as Moisturizing Relaxing Fluid, and Kenra Texturizing Mist. Blow dry with hands and style with a 32mm Wand and Joico Hair Shake.
