Last week I posted about the Conch Shell Braid on Modern's Facebook (with 233 Likes!) and this week I found a new braid you may like...it's what I like to call the Nymph Braid!

Created by Kevin Murphy at the Australian Fashion Week 2012, Murphy was inspired by Roman garden nymphs and the avante garde work of photographer Jock Sturges. Wondering how you can create this whimsical and fun look on your clients? Before you start working make sure you have linen thread and a needle!

Here are the steps:

1. Prep the hair by applying Kevin Murphy HAIR.RESORT.SPRAY from the roots to the ends.
2. Separate the hair by using a diagonal parting from just under the crown to  behind the ear.
3. Smooth the back section down and secure the hair into a ponytail at the nape using linen thread and a needle.
4. Separate the ponytail in two and while twisting each section twist into a rope.
5. Continue twisting until the hair twists on itself and creates a knot.
6. Secure the knot to the nape using needle and thread.
7. Separate the front section in two by creating a side part.
8. Using a medium size curling iron take small sections of the hair and ribbon hair around the curling iron leaving the ends out.
9. Curl both front sections.
10. Loosely French braid each front section around the hairline. Secure by using Kevin Murphy SEWING.KIT to sew the hair in place.
11. As you are sewing pull some of the sections of the hair out to loosen and create a wispy braid.
12. Secure the ends of the braid around the knot at the back with needle and thread.
13. Finish with Kevin Murphy HAIR.RESORT SPRAY.
