Apply this Goldwell how-to formula to create beautiful reds this fall and holiday, and get inspired from Hollywood and the 2013 AMAs.
As fall turns to winter, clients seek rich, vibrant shades that complement paler skin but look great with a tan after a beach getaway, too. By holiday time, both blondes and brunettes begin playing with the idea of going red. Look to Hollywood for inspiration—there’s plenty!
Half of your young clients want to be girl-next-door Emma Watson; the other half want to rock it like Carly Rae Jepsen! Emma’s been wearing an age-appropriate shade that brings out her subtly freckled complexion, while Carly goes more cray-cray Crayola orange.

Red in bright light, blonde in the sun and, in dim light, practically a rich brunette—that’s the kind of nuanced sexiness that clients come to you for! Millie Mackintosh’s honey-red is perfect. Ariana Grande wore a similar natural-looking, multi-toned shade at the recent 2013 American Music Awards, where she was named New Artist of the Year.

For the classic redhead look, clients of every age look to actresses Julianne Moore
and Amy Adams, who tend to stick with their winning signature shades.

of the Goldwell North America Artistic Team and owner of Di Rosa Haircare & Esthetique
