Hair legend Oribe Armando Canale, the renowned and distinguished celebrity hair stylist whose combination of salon and celebrity work spans over three decades, shares with First Chair his four favorite "timeless" looks. These classic hair styles worn by Frida Kahlo, Natalie Wood, Maria Callas and Audrey Hepburn have served as inspiration throughout his career.
FRIDA KAHLO
"This is a younger take on an updo and
a great look for thick hair…it's braided
and wrapped around itself on top of the
head. You can add interest to the look
with ribbon or whatever type of accent
you like, or even use extensions for
more volume. I recreated this style on
Jennifer Lopez in 2004 when she went
to the Costume Institute Gala with Domenico
Dolce and Stefano Gabbana-
and I still love that look today."

NATALIE WOOD
"Natalie's look is a beautiful, sexy '60s
kind of updo. Curl the hair and
lock in the shine with Oribe Soft Lacquer
Heat Styling Spray, then brush out the waves
and pin the hair into a French twist with extra
height at the crown. Be sure to keep the style
loose at the front to avoid looking too severe."

AUDREY HEPBURN
"Audrey is timeless. She has this
great French twist with lots of height
in the back…and separation in the
front. Use Oribe Volumista Mist for
volume to create lift (or for thicker
hair, keep the style shiny and in control
with Royal Blowout), and
create separation in the front with
Rough Luxury."
