Gabrielle Grzegorczyk of G. Creative Studio Salon, A Paul Mitchell Focus Salon in Freeland, Michigan, caught our eye with this beautiful transformation. "My guest Bridget has been coming to me for almost a year now," says Grzegorczyk. "We have always kept her what I like to call a 'Beyond Blonde' - an icy icy white. This time she wanted change. She came in with 1.5" of new growth at a level 6, and her ends were a level 10 pale yellow." After a consultation, artist and guest decided to go with a rose gold + soft peach hair color, using Paul Mitchell The Color XG, enhanced with some lovely Hotheads Extensions.
Formula 1: (new growth) 1oz 7A + .3oz 7RB 20volume
Formula 2: (midshaft/ends) 1oz 7RV + 1oz 10N + pea size red intensifier + pea size orange intensifier + 1oz clear intensifier + 10volume
Formula 3: (midshaft/ends) .5oz 8C + .5oz 7RB + clear booster + 10volume
Step 1: Section hair into quadrants. Retouch the new growth with Formula 1. Do not overlap to previously colored hair.
Step 2: Start in the front left quadrant, using diagonal back sections about 1/2" wide. Rotate Formula 2 & Formula 3. (2:1) repeat this in the same pattern on the remaining 3 quadrants. While applying, make sure to blend the formula previously applied on the new growth in with the other 2 formulas for a smooth blend with no hard lines.
Step 3: Process new growth for 35 minutes for maximum coverage, and mid-shaft to ends for 25 minutes (for the more soft translucent look.)
Step 4: Rinse in cold water after processing is complete. Apply Paul Mitchell Ink Works 1 ounces white + .5ounces Hot Pink + 1.5 ounces conditioner for an Ink Manicure in the bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water and shampoo and condition with Awapuhi Wild Ginger. "This will create a soft glaze for an added richness in color."
Step 5: Blow dry and apply Hotheads Hair Extensions for thickness, pairing color 130, copper red to color 20, light ash blonde.
Step 6: After extensions are installed, spray hair with Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press heat protectant. Style with Paul Mitchell Neruo Smoot Iron for soft, beach wave. Finish with Awapuhi Wild Ginger Finishing Spray and Gloss Drops on her ends to break up the curls and add shine.
