Franco Hernandez (@HairByFranco), felt he had a challenge with his client. "Her regrowth was grown out about an 1 1/2", at a level 4," he says. "The midshaft and ends were previously colored and highlighted, then colored over with box color AND then re-highlighted again! I felt she was the perfect model since she was now requesting to be multi dimensional blonde again." Hernandez got busy, adding Bondplex, infused with A.B.S. (Anti Breakage System) to maintain the integrity of the hair.
Here he shares the HOW TO:

Step 1: Highlight the hair using Redken Flash Lift 2 oz + 3oz 20 volume developer (blended with Bondplex).
Step 2: To the regrowth apply Redken Highlift Medium Neutral 2oz + 4 oz 30 volume developer (blended with Bondplex)
Step 3: Balayage the ends of hair that were not in the foils using the same formula as in step one.
Step 4: Process for 40 minutes at room temperature.
Step 5: After Intensifier, tone with Redken Shades EQ gloss 09GI 2 oz and 2oz processing solution.

Step 6: Process for 10 minutes and then shampoo and rinse from the hair.
NOTES FROM HERNANDEZ:
All formulas used had the recommended doses of Bondplex infused with A.B.S.
Also, I believe I could have increased the developer strength for the highlights in the regrowth area as I would have liked to see it a bit brighter. The ends, extremely porous, were just fine. I felt this created a truly 'liquid gold' result!!!
Once back at the salon chair we began to blow dry, using NO products to smooth. Immediately both the salon guest and myself could feel the difference. This guest commented in the past she would see breakage on the cape from her past experiences at other salons. She could not stop running her fingers through her hair. I was blown away with the feel. This was a great experience and Im happy that my salon guest was so happy to get the results she had been trying to achieve. As a colorist, I was happy to find a product that helped me push the bounderies a little bit with out worry.
