Miriam Ortega (@studio410artonhair) of Studio 410 Art On Hair, Dallas, Texas, sent us another beautiful transformation that we had to share. "When Amanda came in she had about 2-3 inches of level 5 new growth," says Ortega. "She wanted something different and chose this gorgeous multi dimensional silver hair. We put the petal to the metal with this transformation, showing off our 'Art On Hair Summer Collection'. We were both thrilled."
Here Ortega shares the HOW TO:
Step 1: Bleach retouch: Section hair into quadrants. Mix the following formula: 3 scoops Redken Flash Lift, adding 4 ounces of 20 volume developer. Add 1/8 of an ounce of a bond builder. Apply to the new growth only.
Step 2: Allow the new growth to process for at least 10-15 minutes with no heat.
Step 3: Mix a fresh batch of the formula in step 1. Apply this from the ends of her new growth, through the ends of her hair. Process at the bowl for no more than 5 minutes. "This will allow the blonde to be a uniform blonde, with no lines of demarcation."
Step 4: Rinse hair NO SHAMPOO and then towel dry.
Step 5: Blend toner A for the new growth: 1 1/2 oz of 06T iron Shades EQ gloss, 1 oz of 06N Moroccan Sand Shades EQ gloss blended with 2 oz. of Shades EQ Processing Solution.
Step 6: Blend toner B for the rest of the hair: 1 1/2 oz 09T chrome Shades EQ gloss, 1/2 oz of 09B Sterling Shades EQ Gloss blended with 2 oz. of Shades EQ Processing Solution.
Step 7: Section had into 4 equal sections. Take 1/4 of an inch slices, beginning of the the top. Apply toner A from new growth to about 3 inches down. Continue applying through out all sections, only applying to new growth only.
Step 8: Apply toner B to the rest of the hair (avoiding the root area). Heavily saturate the hair, making sure to work the toner in to the hair using fingers.
Step 9: Process with a cap for 5 minutes under low heat. Rinse hair but do not shampoo. Towel dry.
Step 10: Apply a bond builder throughout the hair and process with a cap for 10 - 15 minutes. Shampoo and condition the hair.
