Carter at Carter Vu Salon in Atlanta, Georgia, was undaunted by this first time client sporting 4 inches of regrowth on her level 5 medium brown hair. She wanted a full head of highlights and to be blonder without any sign of yellow. "Interestingly," says Vu, "she specifically asked for Olaplex to protect her hair! It took both myself and my assistant 90 mins to foil her full head. We gave her tons, tons, tons of foils."
Here Vu shares the formula:
Step 1: Lift to very pale yellow using Redken Flash Lift with 40 volume developer (and Olaplex). Processing took approximately 30 minutes.
Step 2: Glaze with Redken Shades EQ: 1part of 9V and 2 part of CLEAR. Process for 15 minutes "to get rid of the yellow".
