Get Glowing with Glow Framing

Applying light-reflective tones around the hairline and face is a technique used in this collection, which the team of artists named “Glow Framing.”  

“When we were all brainstorming new terms for this technique, we wanted to get away from ‘money piece’ because we were taking a softer, more modern approach to face-framing,” says Carlos Alvarez (@carlos_alvarez_hair), a Houston-based award-winning stylist and International Goldwell Artist. “Glow Framing is all about a one- or two-level difference, subtle but luxurious. It’s not a stripe, not an obvious placement, it is those nuances that reveal a dimensional break in the color.” 

By alternating micro-weaves and stretched highlights, stylists can create a radiant halo effect that flatters skin tone and emphasizes natural beauty and is perfect for clients who want a low-maintenance, high-impact finish.

“The SunDipped Collection is like bottling up the summer sun, and the summer moon. It’s giving people this effortless, expensive look, almost like they don’t care, but of course, they really do,” Alvarez adds. 

“We’re seeing this same vibe in fashion. This isn’t the girl wearing head-to-toe in Gucci or labels everyone will recognize. But you know she’s wearing great quality. And her color looks expensive without screaming ‘you just had your hair done.’ It’s those subtle glints that create understated, refined elegance, and sophistication.”

Lit From Within: New Topchic Colors

Part of Goldwell's "Unique Colors, Unique You" initiative, and reflecting the seasonal trend Nocturnal Glam, the collection includes eight new colors: three Topchic (9NP, 6NP, 7NP) and five Topchic Zero (8GN, 10GN, 9KN, 7KN, 6GN). The palette ranges from warm golden hues to cool, pearlescent naturals.

The imagery calls out the gleaming contrast of highlights and lowlights, of light and shadow, with finishes that are balanced and brilliant.

3. Toning: Apply Formula 2A.

Use Moonstone Glow to complement grey hair on the hairline. To give a pearlescence dimension throughout the whole head, use micro-weaving and stretched highlights.

Expert tips: To achieve a variety of coverage and a low-maintenance result with dimension, mix lighter and darker shades when applying on the regrowth – this will also create a softer color transition.

Application Steps

Start the color application with Glow Framing in micro-weaves on the hairline and alternate formulas 1C and 1A. Do up to four slices according to the amount of grey. Then proceed to the nape area towards the crown area.

Section 2
