Pivot Point International, a global leader in hair and beauty education, has announced the winners of itsfirst global-level student “Funk Up Your Head” photo competition.
The competition, which began with Pivot Point Australia, has grown this year to include participation from ten countries in regional competitions that led to the naming of the global winners. Participating countries included: Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Canada, Korea, Norway, Sweden, the UK and the USA.
Entries from 346 students from around the globe were judged on Creativity (50%), Technique (40%), and Originality (10%). There were two rounds of judging: regional and international, with four winners selected in each round. Prizes were awarded to first, second and third-place winners, and the Fan Favorite, who was selected online by students.
“Competition is a pillar of Pivot Point’s mission,” noted company Chairman and CEO Robert Passage. “Competition, along with education, was the passion of my father, even before he founded Pivot Point. We are thrilled to have sponsored this modern, creative and contemporary competition open to cosmetology students around this world. We know this form of competition will expand in the coming years.”

2nd Place – Bora Lee of South Korea with “Pastelist”
3rd Place – Stephie Jones of the UK with “Looking Perdy”
Fan Favorite – Emma Berggren of Sweden with “Sweetness of Spring”
