Marissa L. started her own business recently and resolves to make better life choices by eating healthier, sleeping more and working smarter, not harder. She aims to find balance between family time and running her salon while also staying healthy.
James H. has a detailed plan to achieve his resolution to complete a half marathon in less than 1 hour and 50 minutes. In each of the first 12 weeks on four days—Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays—he’ll run at 5mph for 10 to 15 miles and try to improve his time from there. He’ll document his progress in a cell phone app, which also reminds him to get out and run. “I'm still in beauty school, but this is totally attainable and I’m super excited!” James writes.
Running is also the goal for Brent R., who plans to pack a bag in his car’s trunk five or six days a week so that he goes straight from the salon to the gym. “This is a great mental release for me, as I can mentally unpack the day and not take ‘salon crazy’ home with me!” he says. “Cardio is not only great for my physical fitness but for my mental fitness as well.”
“Cutting back on my vices” is a resolution for Leigh W. as she aims to take better care of her body by also eating better, working out more and dedicating more time to pampering herself, she writes, “to not only look better, but most importantly to feel better!”
