"Happy Mondays" is an Arrojo Studio concept that was launched several years ago and has become one of the most popular educational programs available. "We are an education based brand," says Andrew Arrojo, PR and Marketing Director for Arrojo. "We wanted to offer this program to our Ambassador salons as an opportunity to connect and share our culture. At the same time, we wanted to share this information with others interested in our brand."

The 2 hour "master jam", held at the Arrojo Studion in NYC on the first Monday of every month, is intimate and open, with the attendees freely asking questions and getting clarification. "It's all about learning and getting to the next level," says Arrojo.

"Within the first six months it became popular and we decided to take it on the road," he continues. "It's not a set schedule. We do six to ten a year around the US. Often we use an Ambassador salon space or a photographic studio to train. Nick goes on the road with Master Stylists to offer education for free." While the Happy Mondays are free to Ambassador salon owners and staff, there is a $25 charge to those interested in just coming for the education. Because Happy Mondays are limited to 100 people and because of its popularity, anyone interested must RSVP (info on the site listed below.)

At the most recent session, the American Color Wave was launched to the professional salon community to give attendees a chance to see the transformations take place. Each model  received an American Color Wave, in a full range of shapes, and was then cut and styled before the audience. Nick Arrojo, leading the program, noted how fresh and modern the new wave can look on clients today. "It is a perfect service for the client," says Arrojo, "and a profitable, creative service for the professional."

Here is the actual PRESS RELEASE about the American Wave:

After launching his new texture-enhancing service in 2012, Nick Arrojo said: “The perm is dead. American Wave was born to create soft, natural-looking wave and curl patterns for todayʼs style-conscious consumer. Clients want the graceful elegance and individuality of texture. Necessity is the mother of invention and we made the product to match the demand.” Featuring modern ionic technology, the original American Wave System creates a range of customized styles from cascading beach waves to increased volume to expanded textures to full-blown curls. To retain the integrity of an innovative new service, ARROJO made certification a requirement of carrying and using the system. With over 150 salons and stylists certified in the first year, American Wave has kick-started a new era for texture and movement.
As the industry catches up, our next wave of curl is already on the way. Although all hair types are eligible for American Wave, including many permanent and demi-permanent colors, it is not suitable for bleached or heavily highlighted hair.
With todayʼs fashionistas wanting bombshell blonde to go with bombshell beach waves, there was a gap in the market. American Color Wave fills the gap with a flash of coruscating light. Using an evolutionary natural processing waving system, now the benefits of American Wave––lasting definition and control of dynamic waves and curls––can be combined with even the most checkered hair color history. The system uses inspired, editorial hair setting techniques for fashion-forward looks, which means.American Color Wave can be customized to a range of textures, including:
• The Beach Wave: Marries straight and wavy textures to create sexy, tousled, coveted beach waves.
• Style Support: Style Support adds volume. Great for putting oomph into blow-dries and hot-tool styling.
• Expanded Curls: For resilient, full curls. Great for clients who want texture expansion.
By using ʻsoft toolsʼ while setting in an American Color Wave (like the original), we are able to reduce stress on hair, while the specialized lotion smoothes the cuticle for natural-looking movement. Additionally, instead of chemical compounds, American Color Wave (like the original) smells of eucalyptus.
American Color Wave will be available from April 2013. Those who are already certified American Wave stylists will have immediate access to the product. To promote the brilliant potential of American Color Wave, ARROJO released a new editorial collection. “Set in iconic
Coney Island, the Color Wave collection shows the ultra-magnetic power of vibrant, striking color –– combined with the beautiful elegance of modern tousle and flow,” says Nick.

The video shown here is a technical presentation about the American Wave, telling the story from the professional AND client perspective.

Meanwhile, don't forget to sign up for Arrojo Expo to be held Sept. 15 and 16 in NYC. Attendees will have the chance to learn more about the American Color Wave and will be offered the opportunity to get certified in the service, in addition to accessing other amazing educational offerings.
