Have you ever had a creative block? Ancient Greeks believed that muses were the the source of an artist's inspiration; They were invisible goddesses; a divine wind that blew through the human vessel lucky enough to be graced by her attention. Her function was not to only inspire, but to ignite new insights for the artist attention.

We've all heard the phrase "You're only as good as your last work."  This can be daunting for an artist who has a project ahead of them. We wait, hope and pray that our muse will find us. At some point, all artists struggle with the curse called the 'creative block'. The reality is, if creativity is your job, then you don't have the luxury of waiting on a muse. Here are a few ways I summon my muse:

De-clutter- A clean work space will allow for clear thinking and brainstorming process

Just Start Writing- First write down the concept of your project and branch out a spider web of words. I often start with a title and develop my big idea from there.

Make An Appointment With Yourself-Designate a specific time to work on your project daily until it is done.
