Ah, Facebook has done it again! Today Facebook announced they will be rolling out changes to your privacy settings and activity logs.

If you have seen a “privacy shortcut” in the top-right corner of your Facebook page, it’s already happened to your page, but it’s OK! This blog post will walk you thorough the changes that are happening for your ‘personal’ and ‘brand’ pages. Here’s a quick rundown of everything you need to know to stay up-to-date and navigate the new changes.

Facebook Privacy:

The privacy changes take away the option to hide your profile from Facebook's search. It will also allow you to decide how much of your content you would like to share with individual subscribers, plus they added a shortcut to your privacy page (finally!). These changes are all applicable to your personal profiles, not your professional pages.

Facebook Activity Log:

This change will be very helpful for professional salon and brand pages. Activity logs will now outline every single activity on your page individually, and allow you to sort by the type (photo, video, posts about your page, etc.) archiving all the way back to the beginning of your Facebook page. This will be a big change for professional business pages as it will allow them to see how their content is being spread, allowing you to change your Facebook strategy where necessary.

So, that’s it in a nutshell! If you’re looking for an in-depth read on the new changes, go here: or here.
