You probably associate hand sanitizers more with doctor's offices, or germophobe consumers, than a luxe spa retail offering. If that’s the case, your clients likely have the same perspective. Surprisingly, though, several beauty companies are trying to reinvent how hand sanitizers are perceived in the marketplace by developing moisturizing (yes, moisturizing) organic formulas in spa-worthy packaging that are worthy of a place next to the creams, lotions and potions on one’s vanity.

What a perfect opportunity to introduce your clients to a new category of spa products? Try out a few natural, gentle formulas that smell great. Then artfully display your favorites at the front desk (with testers, of course) and also place them in your treatment rooms and at your mani-pedi stations. Have your technicians mention what a great find the sanitizers are and how surprised they were by the formulas’ non-clinical, skin-friendly scent and moisturizing properties.

One product from Surya Brasil (www.suryacosmetics.com) is the Organic Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer. The formula is infused with exotic extracts from plants found in the Amazon, such as aloe for its soothing and healing properties, Jua, a cleansing and refreshing fruit, and Acai, a powerful moisturizer and antioxidant rich in protein, omega-9 fatty acid and Vitamin E. This sanitizer also comes in two sizes: a travel-ready pocket-size tube and a desktop bottle.

Also, Australian brand FRAIS (www.frais.com/au) recently unveiled an organic moisturizing hand sanitizer with eight essential oils. The formula contains 66 percent sugarcane alcohol to kill 99.9 percent of common germs, but does not contain any toxic ingredients.

Another brand to consider is Caren et Cie Moisturizing Hand Sanitzer. Caren’s sanitizer conditions skin with aloe and glycerine and imparts a light fragrance. Choose from the signature Caren scent, Cucumber or Stardust.

In Dubai, Clients Visit the Salon Every Week. Here’s What That Market Can Teach You

In Dubai, a salon visit isn’t an appointment. It’s a weekly routine, and clients can spend $800 to $1,400 a month on it, according to Gaurav Tripathi of MADI International. On October 6-8, 2026, the market behind those numbers opens its doors as Beautyworld Dubai marks its 30th edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together distributors, brands, stylists and salon owners from all over the world.
