The 2006 Global Salon Business Forum and Awards, the salon business education, recognition and networking seminar, will be held June 3-6 in Barcelona.
The event is produced by the B.E.S.T. Foundation (Business Education for Salons Today), a non-profit organization that supports the growth of the salon industry through advanced business education and resources. This year's Forum will begin with an opening ceremony at the stadium built for the 1992 Summer Olympics. The following day, the seminar moves to the Palau de la Musica Catalana with a premiere of the film, Hair Heroes, and a guest appearance by Vidal Sassoon.
Dr. Alfred E. Osborne, Jr. will host a panel discussion of salon business strategies and visions.
Guests will view the film I'm Not Just a Hairdresser, created by stylist and educator Vivienne Mackinder, and hear a keynote address by author and business performance coach Dr. J.P. Pawliw-Fry. Other guest presenters include Xavier Sala Martin, professor of economics at Columbia University; Fatima Whitaker of Whitaker International; Luis Llongueras of Llongueras International, and Michael Gordon, founder of Bumble & bumble.
Day three of the event will include networking and brainstorming sessions with salon professionals from around the world.
The Global Salon Business Forum will conclude with a banquet honoring the year's Global Salon Business Awards winners, hosted by television personality Leeza Gibbons.
Vidal Sassoon will receive the first "Vidal Sassoon Lifetime Achievement Award." For more information, please visit www.bestfoundation.com.
