Happy New Year--and Happy Return of Awards Season!

Next weekend kicks off another year in red carpet hits and misses as the 2013 Golden Globes bring out the stars of TV, film and more for one of the most entertaining shows of the year. Anticipation is high for many of the ladies nominated, but we decided to take a look at a very specific group of women we can’t wait to see on the red carpet: the blondes! Here’s what we’re expecting from the golden ladies of the 2013 Golden Globes.

Amy Poehler

What to expect: Though her styles on the red carpet haven’t changed much throughout the years, Amy has steadily warmed up her tone to a lovely golden blonde, giving her styling more dimension and a certain glow about them. Amy hosts the show with fellow leading lady Tina Fey this year, so expect to see some hard-working updos and styles that will (have to, really) last throughout the many wardrobe changes and antics of the evening.

Fun fact: Have you seen Amy’s appearance on the Comedy Central show “Comedy Bang Bang”? She and host Scott Aukermann have some fun with the “Have you done something with your hair?” question in one sketch, then carry on a conversation in another despite Amy’s somewhat, um, distracting ‘do.

Hayden Panetierre

What to expect: Tough one! Hayden wears lengthy extensions for her role as a country star in “Nashville” and often alternates between showing off her chin-length style and her extensions at public appearances. When the extensions are out, though, Hayden will usually opt for a sleek and very chic modern style.

Fun fact: It’s been nearly three years since Hayden shocked fans by taking the big chop from her cheerleader-friendly length (for her role as a cheerleader in “Heroes”) to a slicked-back, ultra short style, a la 1990s Sharon Stone.

Claire Danes

What to expect: Despite the million-degree weather that evening, Claire wowed the crowds of the 2012 Emmy Awards with perfectly polished curls and a deep side part. She was often spotted with her hair down on the red carpet in 2012, but she also favors updos on the lower, softer side with soft pieces around the face.

Fun fact: Claire has been coloring her hair since she was 13, when she starred in My So-Called Life with bright red locks, and says she has “no idea” what her natural color is.

Salon tip: To save your clients’ styles and make them last all night, even in dreaded humidity, stress the importance of a good frizz serum, which stylist Peter Butler said he used for this style on Claire while her hair was still damp.

Naomi Watts

What to expect: Naomi has more than embraced the classic Hollywood look by wearing pin curls and vintage styles on the red carpet many times. Look for an elegant updo--or sidedo?--with a standout accessory.

Fun fact: For her upcoming role portraying Princess Diana of Wales in Caught in Flight, Naomi opted not to cut her hair and instead wore four different wigs of varying lengths and colors.
