"You have eyes in the back of their heads," says The Melanoma Foundation of New England to salon professionals who can help detect possible skin cancers on the scalp and neck.

The Melanoma Foundation of New England is launching a new program called The Skinny on Skin, a free skin cancer education program for salon and spa professionals to enlist them in the fight against melanoma, a potentially deadly form of skin cancer.

According to the Foundation, salon professionals are in the best position to spot suspicious areas on a client’s scalp or neck where it may not be visible to them or others. Professional product manufacturers, who partner with the Melanoma Foundation of New England on the launch of this program, will be able to present their brands to a network of interested and involved salons and stylists.

The events will include networking opportunities, product demonstrations and a healthy skin goody bag from sponsoring manufacturers.

To become a partner in The Skinny on Skin program, contact The Melanoma Foundation of New England at 800-557-6352 or visit mfne.org or skinnyonskin@mfne.org.
