Casa Blanca Salon & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, California, was thinking outside of the box with a recent fundraiser they held to benefit a local children's hospital. The main event was a lingerie and loungewear fashion show featuring the 2007 spring line of L.A. fashion designer Wendy Glez and the 2007 spring line of jewelry from Beverly Hills designer Lisa Stewart. In addition to the show, there were interactive product displays including an Oxygen Bar and a Champagne station. Casa Blanca was also celebrating the launch of their newly-designed website; 20 percent of all net proceeds from sales from their Shop CB Online will also be donated to the cause.

Between those contributions, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the live and silent auctions that were also held that day, the event raised more than $10,000, which will be used by the hospital to purchase two PC Pals units. The PC Pals program, run through Starlight Starbright, provides seriously ill children and teens with a computer that is pre-loaded with entertaining and educational software and has access to Starbright World, an online community for seriously ill teens, and to the Internet, e-mail and instant messaging, so they can stay connected to the outside world. The online fundraising component at Shop CB Online has also been extended through May 2007, with the goal of raising an additional $5,000 to purchase a third PC Pal.
