It's no secret that the Internet is the next revolution in marketing. It's a communications and marketing tool that is second to none. So make sure you are using this tool to your advantage, too! With monthly e-newsletters, you can educate and keep in constant communication with prospective and current clients. In time, with more and more people becoming subscribers, your online newsletter will become an important business-building tool.

The first step is to find out your options:

-Pre-built newsletter: There are companies who will do just about all the work for you and give you an e-mail address or website where people can subscribe to your online newsletter, as well as write and e-mail the newsletter to your clients on your behalf.
-E-mail newsletter services: Some companies will take care of all the work for you as far as the programming, signing up and removal of subscribers, and e-mailing of the online newsletter.

-Your e-mail program: Whether you're using Microsoft Outlook, Netscape Messenger, Eudora or even America Online, you can create a list of your subscribers. And when you decide to send your online newsletter, you just load up your program and send it out. This is doesn't cost you a dime and you have complete control.

Once you've chosen your e-newsletter system, you need to build up your list of subscribers. Here's how:

-Your current clients: Ask for their e-mail addresses so you can add them to your database.
-Prospects: Every time you meet potential clients, get their e-mail addresses and add them to your list.
-Others: Request that subscribers forward the online newsletter and recommend it to their friends and family.
-Joint ventures: Find other local businesses that have online newsletters and offer to mention their online newsletter in your newsletter, and in exchange they do the same for you.
- Search engines: If your online newsletter has a website where people can sign up, list the website with the major search engines, such as Yahoo! or Google.
-Send out your online newsletter at least once a month. The key here is to have at least 60 percent or 70 percent of your online newsletter broadcasts being a true newsletter (education, tips, advice, etc.). The remaining 30-40 percent can be special offers and promotions.
- Do not send your online newsletter to people who don't know you, and who didn't request to be added to your mailing list. Also, when someone requests to be removed, make sure you remove the name right away.

In Dubai, Clients Visit the Salon Every Week. Here’s What That Market Can Teach You

In Dubai, a salon visit isn’t an appointment. It’s a weekly routine, and clients can spend $800 to $1,400 a month on it, according to Gaurav Tripathi of MADI International. On October 6-8, 2026, the market behind those numbers opens its doors as Beautyworld Dubai marks its 30th edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together distributors, brands, stylists and salon owners from all over the world.
