It was just about a year ago when Anne Hathaway took the big chop for her much-anticipated role in Les Miserables, in which her character cuts off her long locks in the movie for a super close crop. The change was a bit startling--for fans and for Anne.

“[I was] a mental patient level of crying...I was inconsolable,” she said this summer about her new look. “I wasn’t expecting it to be a big deal. It was my idea to do it, since it was something the character did... [But then] I realized I couldn’t take it back.”
